Chennai (India); 27 February 2009; Indian manufacturer Bhastrik supplies metal bellows and compensators for a wide array of applications. Applications are ranging from the most basic applications to extremely complicated and unique ones. Bellows from Bhastrik are used in industries including aerospace, defense, power, industrial, automotive and medical.

Full service
Bhastrik quite rightly claims to have a complete range of bellow services. Their plant in Chennai has hydro forming machines for producing convoluted bellows. At the same time edge welded diaphragm bellows are produced. The precision-formed diaphragms are welded by micro plasma welding using special fixtures to prevent an uneven stress build up.
Next to TIG and Plasma welding facilities Bhastrik supplies a wide range of testing facilities. Pneumatic, hydraulic and helium leak test facilities are present. Further tests Bhastrik supplies as a standard service are die penetrant, spring rate and fatigue life tests.

Mechanical Laboratories
“Bhastrik does not stop at producing diaphragm and convoluted bellows.” CEO Mr. Srikanth assures us. “We intentionally call our works as mechanical laboratories. We do everything that is done in a laboratory. An idea or concept is discussed. Data is gathered and analysed and the product is designed and manufactured. When the customer is satisfied with the pilot sample or batch, the bulk is manufactured.”

In India Bhastrik is a reputed name in the world of bellows. In Europe this is not yet the case, reason for Bhastrik to join the Achema exhibition. Next to their manufacturing, welding and testing facilities Bhastrik also produces all fixtures in-house. With more than 3 decades experience Bhastrik is confident the European buyer will be pleasantly surprised by the possibilities. CBI (Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries), a Dutch government agency shares this confidence. After a stringent audit for exports to the European Union, Bhastrik is selected for the export development programme. Subsequently they exhibit in the Achema exhibition in Frankfurt. You can find them on the CBI pavilion in Hall 9 on stand H21 – J24, Messe Frankfurt, 11 – 15 May.
